Past Editions: Cerealia 2012 – The Cereal Festival
“In the Footsteps of Ceres: Cereals Between Culture, Food, Economy, and Environment” Regions Involved: Lazio, Sardinia, Abruzzo
The 2nd edition of the festival was promoted by M.Th.I., ArcheoClub d’Italia – Rome and Ariccia/Nemi branches, and Nur Publishing House. The Mediterranean partner country for 2012 was Turkey.
The festival’s activities centered on the dates linked to the Vestal Rites, while the calendar was enriched with additional events spread throughout the year starting in April, also celebrating the Ludi of Ceres.
Unlike the 2011 edition, which was held exclusively in Rome and Ariccia, the 2012 edition expanded the program to a regional and national level, involving a wider network of public and private partners.
The key themes of the festival, as in the first edition, were: culture, environment, territory, society, economy, food, agriculture, commerce, history, and tourism.
