Seeds of the Future
A contest for schools of all levels on the occasion of the 11th edition of the Cerealia Festival
“Seeds of the Future” – School Initiative, Cerealia Festival XI Edition
On the occasion of its 11th edition, the Cerealia Festival invites schools of all levels (primary and secondary) to develop a creative project on the festival’s guiding theme:
“Seeds of the Future: Food and Environmental Education for Youth”
The initiative aims to promote active citizenship practices focused on sustainable food culture and environmental care, preparing students to face the challenges of the future.
Specifically, it encourages young people to reflect on how media (including social media) and businesses (production, processing, distribution) address environmental and food-related issues, and the ways these systems communicate sensitive content (education/food/environment), fostering critical analysis among students.
Projects, developed individually or collectively by classes, will serve as a tool for dialogue and reflection, continuing the work initiated in 2018 by the ODA (Observatory on Dialogue in Agri-food), and will contribute to activating concrete actions for all stakeholders.
The initiative integrates analytical tools provided by the UN 2030 Agenda (17 SDGs), the European Union, and relevant Italian Ministries (Education, Health, Environment, Agriculture), creating a networked project connecting: Cerealia Festival 2021, media, schools, and ODA.
