Revitalizing Urban Green Spaces

The “Greening the Cities” project will be included in the list that the EFA will present in November in Berlin for the Conference.

The Cerealia Festival supports the open letter sent by FIDAF, CONAF, ANTEC, and the Alberitalia Committee to the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, Environment and Protection of Land and Sea, Economy and Finance, and for the South and Territorial Cohesion, as well as to the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI).
The letter proposes the use of European Funds for the revitalization of urban green spaces. The presidents of FIDAF, CONAF, ANTEC, and the Alberitalia Committee highlight the environmental, economic, and social benefits of developing urban greenery and suggest creating an endowment fund to finance the design, installation, and maintenance of green areas in cities.
The signatory organizations also request that the use of these funds by municipalities be conditional on the adoption of proper administrative tools for the planning, inventory, and regulation of public and private green spaces. Municipalities should carry out these operations with the collaboration of qualified professionals possessing the skills and certifications required by current legislation.
