Presentation: Observatory on Dialogue in the Agri-Food Sector
The Observatory on Dialogue in the Agri-Food Sector was launched in the early months of 2018 by FIDAF, the Passinsieme Association, the Cerealia Festival Network, and a group of researchers, academics, and professionals interested in the dynamics shaping the agri-food sector. Its aim is to promote a process of collective reflection on the relationship between science and society, involving all stakeholders of the food system: knowledge producers, economic operators, knowledge mediators, decision-makers, and civil society.
Between December 2018 and May 2019, five meetings were scheduled to consolidate the participatory process that began on June 8, 2018, at the Botanical Garden of Rome during the Cerealia Festival. The objective was to identify shared pathways to enhance and use, for the common good, the entire body of knowledge—both academic and traditional. All meetings are participatory in nature and are led by a professional facilitator. On June 7, 2019, the second plenary session of the Observatory will take place, aimed at summarizing the outcomes of the five meetings and planning future activities.
